More behind the scenes footage from this past weekend 😊 Not everything was perfect, there was drama, arguments and some other things I won’t bore you with. But, when I look back on these times, I know the happy memories we made together will be what stands out the most. Spending time outdoors in one of the most natural beautiful places in the world.
And, I am beyond grateful that we have to opportunity to do things with my kids that we didn’t have the means to do when I was younger. So if you can, take the trip, or just explore the places around where you live. You won’t regret it!
How we made this last minute trip affordable:
We booked this trip like two weeks before we left, so all of the flights were crazy expensive. We finally found some flights out of Dallas (our nearest largest airport) using Frontier. I was told this was not a good company to use, but we had no issues and our tickets were $100 a piece!
We booked our hotel outside of Denver in a smaller city about 30 minutes from all of the places we wanted to travel to (Westminster, Co) and our stay was under $500 for 4 nights.
We stopped at a local grocery story on the way to our hotel and got waters, snacks, etc so we didn’t have to eat out a lot while on the trip.
Lastly, rented a car to through Expedia which I found gave us the best options and prices for rental cars and helped not having to uber anywhere which really adds up.
Things we learned:
If you do go to the National park make sure you reserve your timed entry tickets, its worth the extra money to utilize your time and get in early and not have to wait forever for open entry times.
Also, make sure if you decide to tube the mini rapids in Golden, to reserve your tubes the day before at least, otherwise you have to purchase tubes (which is what we had to do) and that can get really expensive.
Make reservations for ANY restaurants you want to go to, everything stays booked
Feel free to message me with any questions 😊
